Workshops Around the World Taught by Justin Pate
In the United States
Avery Dennison in conjunction with Mutoh America will offer ten car wrap training sessions around the United States in 2012 as part of its Car Wrap Training Program. Master installer Justin Pate will teach the classes using Avery Dennison’s vehicle wrap materials, MPI 1005 Supercast Easy Apply RS, with Avery DOL overlaminates.
Justin Pate, a globally recognized graphic installer, will teach all of the wrap classes utilizing Avery MPI 1005 Easy Apply RS, a popular choice with installers because it is easy to use and quick to install with excellent printability.
The The Avery/Mutoh Car Wrap Training Program is designed to provide wrap installers with an in-depth understanding of graphic installation mechanics to gain a competitive advantage in the vehicle wrap industry. The two day workshop (optional 3rd day for a certification test) will focus on all of the critical steps needed improve the quality and speed of car wrap installations. Class sizes will be maintained at a maximum of 17 students to allow for more one on one teaching.

About Avery CertificationInformation on Certification program:
Participants are encouraged to bring their own installation tools in order to ensure the best performance. A limited number of tools will be on site in case items are forgotten.
Participants who pass the certification will receive become an Avery Specialist Car Wraps Installer. They will also receive a free listing on carwraps.net, the number one searched web site for car wraps on the world wide web. This gives an Avery Certified Graphics Installer a distinctive edge in the market place in terms of visibility and profits.”
The Certification Exam is open to all installers (not just participants of the workshop). This program is for experienced installers only.
The Certification text is made up of a written exam and 4 installation tests.
The written exam is made up multiple choice and true/false questions. A study guide will be made available for download upon registration.
The installations tests are:
- wrapping a hood
- installing two panels on a cargo van
- wrapping a complete door of a sedan (including window perf)
- cutting test
* Film used for installation exam: Avery 1005SC Easy Apply RS with 1360 DOL
* All tests will not be judged on time though there are time limits due to logistics
Participants will be judged on
- cleaning the application surface
- proper alignment
- quality of application and cutting
- post heating
- finish work
In Europe
Justin Pate teaches hands-on workshops in the Netherlands for Squeezy. Currently, these 3M sponsored workshops are scheduled every two weeks. Currently, a basic and carwrapping workshop are offered. Coming soon: 2-day in-depth paintwrap workshop
